After significant cracking was found in the Business Arts Plaza’s four-level underground parking, a 24-hour in-situ load test confirmed structural capacity, followed by phased concrete repairs and the application of 50,000 square feet of CSS V-Wrap™ strengthening to enhance long-term durability with minimal operational disruption.
PROJECT DETAILS
The Business Arts Plaza, a multi-level complex with 8 stories of office space and 4 levels of underground parking, exhibited significant cracking across all parking levels.
To assess the structural integrity and capacity to support design loads, an in-situ load test was recommended. The 24-hour test subjected the structure to a load of 100,000 pounds.
Although no significant damage was detected, concrete repairs and structural strengthening were provided as a proactive measure. Tstrata’s CSS V-Wrap™ was selected for its lightweight, durable strengthening capabilities. As an exclusive licensee, STRUCTURAL applied approximately 50,000 square feet of CSS V-Wrap™ across all parking levels. Additionally, partial concrete repairs were performed to restore around 108,000 square feet of delaminated concrete and address cracks.
The repairs were executed in phases to minimize disruption to operations and significantly enhanced the durability and performance of this vital structure for years to come.
